SELF CLEANING

i tried the self cleaning feature and it exploded the window on the oven. what a mess i ask the repair guy what i may have done wrong and he could not answer me, he could not even tell me how he would do it. i locked the oven turned the oven to the high temp like the book said and crack the whole window exploded.its a year later and can't clean my oven not suppose to do manually. and can't find the manual just for the instructions again.... i just need it for that one section.no more shelf cleaning ovens
