Amana Model SXD26V not cooling

It's been working just fine then out of clear blue it just stopped cooling. 2 dogs live in house so I removed front panel and as expected evaporator covered in dust,dirt, dog hair etc.. I sprayed coil cleaner let set and then sprayed with fresh warm water to rinse. Fan is operating but compressor does not kick on. Given these circumstances, and the fact that the compressor isn't more than five years old, what compressor safety features would open and not allow it to work.
