Kenmore Upright 20 cf Freezer Left Open
Left the door ajar unknowingly; heard the overtemp alarm the next AM. Put it in quick freeze mode, which at that point usually recovers, but not this time. Calling Sears was absolutely no help; the kid on the phone couldn't schedule me until AUGUST (this is 2nd week of July), so told him I was going to be tossing 300# of meat and fish. He was just parroting off a screen anyway and NOT a technician. Couldn't find a breaker to reset on the freezer either, as I figured the compressor was overheated. Downloaded a general service manual and troubleshooting at this point. 40 miles out of town.

works well, now beeping after defrost cycle, and still below zero.
