Kitchenaid cooktop KFGU706VSS00

We have had several occasions when the cooktop would not work. Have had to unplug/plug in to work. Figured out that whenever we have the grid power go down, this needs to be done. Just found out after 6 years that the red lock out and hot burner lights do not work after seeing a show room floor model that was not a static display. Now need to figure out what is wrong with unit since the 5 year electronics warranty is expired. Oh joy.
