Ice Maker Hell

Ice maker continues to drip into ice bucket reserves creating repeating melts that then refreeze into larger and larger masses of ice. The ice maker also chooses when it wants to work, as well as when it doesn't. After living with these issues for about the past 3-4 years I've developed some counter strategy such as giving it a light smack during times it appears to be frozen in time (motor gets stuck in module). There's not much I've found that helps control the dripping water from the tray to the bucket except to try to manually keep a check on the amount of ice in the bucket by lifting, or lowering the on/off lever, rather than letting the amount of ice dictate it's own cycles. THis way the ice is used up more quickly and limits the volume available that would otherwise be lost to the glacier building process.
