had to duct tape door shut to get it to run

I'm replacing this dishwasher this weekend. I don't know how old it is, it was in the house when we moved in 15 years ago. Dishes haven't been getting clean for a long time; the water hasn't really been getting hot anymore. The heating element got caught on something hanging down from the bottom rack and slid out towards the door (unbeknowst to use), then burned a hold through the plastic on the bottom of the door the next time it was run. Now it stops on and off because the door doesn't latch anymore. Duct tape worked holding it shut for awhile, but not anymore. May it RIP.
