1998 Amana Side-by-Side SCD22TBL
I purchased an Amana side-by-side refrigerator in early 1998 (15 years). It has performed flawlessly in the mechanical department. I have had to duct tape small splits in the rubber seal of the frig. That's about the only problem I've ever had until just recently water started dripping below the ice maker. I found a zip lock bag blocking the freezer's air vents and removed it. Before that, the bottom of both sides were cooling really well, but the top sides were on the warmer side. After cleaning out spilled food and liquids, I started it up and all was cooling much better, but the icemaker didn't work and it still took a long time to make ice at the bottom of the freezer. I don't know whether to get it repaired or start buying a new one. I welcome feedback. I finally found the model # SCD22TBL behind the light fixture of the refrigerator (on the ceiling). I had been looking for it for years.
