Cooktop Burner ignition

My tenant had a small fire which burned the wires to the igniters for the burners on the cooktop of a Frigidaire model GLGFZ386FCF. I spliced the wires with new 14 gauge wire to repair the burned wires and they still don't work. I'm stumped. Please help! PS- 2 of the right side igniters used to work intermittently. 2 on the left side work fine (no burn damage) Paul
